About

Between black and gold, a path of healing is born.

Auric Spring'Tears  -  is a visual journey where Nany Arruda transforms pain into light, matter into transcendence. In this series, the artist explores the encounter between the shadow of human experience and the brilliance of the sacred, guiding the viewer through a process of inner renewal. Layers of acrylic, tempera, and gold paint overlap like memories — revealing on the vibrant surface of the canvases the moment when darkness becomes revelation.
More than a sequence of paintings, it is a prayer in color, a golden spring that blooms within the soul.

Night in Bloom

Porto, Portugal, 2025/2026

Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 110 x 80 cm

“I wrote a thousand letters,

colored hundreds of paintings.

Holding a dozen wildflowers,

I stand in a field, my friend.”

The series begins in the territory of darkness. In Night in Bloom, black dominates — dense, absolute — but from it emerge flowers in chromatic explosion, marking the moment when life resists within pain. The artist uses successive acrylic layers, creating a living, breathing texture. The composition is a nocturnal garden where color defies silence. The verse reflects the pictorial gesture of the artist herself: to paint is the act of surviving. Trauma becomes gesture, lament becomes flower.

The Search

Porto, Portugal, 2026

Medium: Mixed Media / Watercolor and Acrylic on paper
Dimensions: 29 x 42 cm (A3)

“It is autumn and winter is coming.
Tear up my wings — I’m falling apart.
Reality, it’s dark here.
The well is dry...
Well… it is dry, into-me-see.”

The Search is the point of crossing. The ghost gardener approaches the boat before a deep blue sea. The boat is a metaphor for faith — the movement that demands surrender. The brushstroke is brief and rhythmic; the blue vibrates between calm and abyss. The poem’s verses become gesture: fire and water coexist, and the cold of the soul is warmed by the divine presence. The painting speaks of the courage to depart and the silent trust that precedes the miracle.

The Encounter

Porto, Portugal, 2026

Medium: Mixed Media / Watercolor and Acrylic on paper

Dimensions: 29 x 42 cm (A3)

“Bring the fire, light it up,
wrap me in wool, warm me up.
From Your eyes,
a thin, silky dew
drop into my well — fill it up.”

Here, the weary body meets presence. The central figure walks upon the golden sand while the sea draws near, as if the Creator Himself were leaning over the dry well of the soul. The lightness of the watercolor and the transparency of color reinforce the idea of spiritual fragility. The work dialogues with the verses of desolation — the season in which the heart admits dryness and awaits to be filled. But the horizon already announces light: The Encounter marks the beginning of the divine response.

Golden Epiphany

Porto, Portugal, 2026

Medium: Acrylic on paper
Dimensions: 29 x 42 cm (A3)

“Paint me in agape feathers,
spread Your wings, delivered us.
It had to be You.
Quiet steps, illegally, alone —
You drew me near, revealed!
The Incarnate Holy One
passed through the shadowed halls
to rescue me.”

Golden Epiphany represents the moment of transfiguration — the passage from pain to eternity. The surface covered in gold leaf reflects the divine presence and symbolizes the spiritual body healed. The flowers dissolve into pure energy, transformed into chromatic vibration. The poem reaches here its theological climax: the total encounter with the Incarnate Divine. The artist transforms trauma into symbol, the human into sacred matter. It is the end and the beginning — when body, color, and faith become one.
